No Corrode Orangeburg Pipe

Orangeburg pipe was produced from the 1860's to 1974 but it was really popular in Greater Victoria from the 1940's to the late 1950's.

The pipe was supposed to have a 50 year lifespan under ideal conditions, but could see failure in as little as 10 years.

This pipe is made from paper and coated in an adhesive, over time the layers of paper start to separate and the material develops holes and blisters.

If you have this type of pipe in your sewer line, it's time for replacement. If you catch it early enough in the stages of failure the pipe can usually be replaced with trenchless technology.
